Dica de inglês: aprendendo as preposições

A postagem de hoje é dedicada às preposições de lugar em inglês in on e at.

At (para um ponto ou lugar específico)

"She's waiting at the entrance."
"He's sitting on his chair at his desk."
"I work at a bank."

In (para coisas que estejam dentro de algo)

In a box.
In a room.
In a country.

On (quando algo está sobre uma superfície)

On the table.
On the floor.
On the chair.

Parece fácil, mas é muito fácil confundir!

Por exemplo:

"These people live in New York."

Nesse exemplo, o lugar é bem especificado (New York). Mas mesmo assim não usamos at porque a ideia passada aqui é a de que as pessoas vivem dentro dessa tal cidade.
